Transition Laguna Beach
Transition Laguna Beach was the 10th Transition Town in the U.S.A..

transition Laguna Beach
Transition Laguna began as a small group of folks who came together with a common vision. Our initial steering team began to educate and raise awareness about challenges faced by Laguna residents given climate change and peak oil.

For the past year we have worked together, played, and reached out to educate the community:

1) Movie Nights
 2) Re-skilling Workshops: Rain water catchment, canning
 3) Coffee Talk PowerPoint Presentations
 4) Earth Hour 2009, 2010, 2011
 5) Diggin' in the Dirt with TLB's Oak Village Community Gardens Group
 6) Patriot's Day Parade 2010 - 2011
 7) The Great CFL Light Bulb Exchange
 8) Rethink Everything Panel Series: Food, Water, Energy, Building, and Change

The Heart and Soul Of Change

We are following the organic growth model of change presented by the original Transition Town movement in Totnes England. Our consciousness raising efforts are culminating with the Great Unleashing Party and Community Action Breakfast events on May 14th and May 15th. There, at Tivoli Terrace, spontaneous work groups will form to address core areas of sustainable living in Laguna. Already, the Oak Village Community Garden group has come together to plant gardens with friends and neighbors.
